Food & Fitness; practical solutions to obesity
On Tuesday 6 October 2009, the Nutrition and Health Foundation hosted it’s second seminar in the Radisson SAS, Golden Lane, Dublin 8. The seminar entitled Food & Fitness; practical solutions to obesity, was opened by Minister of State Áine Brady, Department of Health & Children; chaired by Dr John Devlin, Deputy Chief Medical Officer; and addressed by Prof. John Nolan, Consultant Endocrinologist, St. James' Hospital. The event was well attended and some interesting questions were raised by the audience.

Professor Arne Astrup, Head of the Department of Human Nutrition from the University of Copenhagen wass keynote speaker. His main areas of interest and research include physiology and pathophysiology of energy and substrate metabolism, with a special emphasis on the aetiology and treatment of obesity. He is President of the International Association for the Study of Obesity (IASO) and Editor-in-Chief of the IASO journal Obesity Reviews. His keynote presentation will covered diets and obesity.
